Video problems

I have been trying to figure out how to upload videos to my computer so that I can then post them here for everyone to see. I have not been successful and am frustrated. If you have any knowledge in that department, please share it with me!
Only 3 days of school left and then it is summer break! WOO HOO! I am a little burned out on the volunteering!

Brady's 6th birthday!

Brady is finally six years old. She had been counting down the days to her birthday for about two months. We had a nice gathering although with all the kids running around it was a little chaotic. The pinata seemed to be a hit and the birthday cake was homemade and had cracked right down the middle. She didn't seem to mind and neither did the other kids when they ate it. I did manage to get some video from the party and when the disc is finished I will see if I can figure out how to get it uploaded. Her actual party is on June 2. She is having a tumbling party and that is the only weekend the lady was available. She has invited all of the girls in her class. I just hope they can make it!
Michael had a party at the camp on Saturday. The camp looked great! He really worked hard to get it cleaned up for the summer. He should be very proud of himself. The party was a great time and we actually set up a tent and camped for the night. It was Oliver's first night of camping and he did great. i had a really hard time sleeping because the bullfrog were SO LOUD!!! I had no idea it was possible for them to be that loud. Just when it seemed I would be able to really fall asleep the birds decided it was time for them to start their symphony. So much for the peace and quiet of nature, huh? So we were all a little tired yesterday.
Today we will go next door for a Memorial Day gathering. The neighbors have a pool so I know my ladybug is pumped to swim. If the water is not too cold I may even let Oliver dip his toes in. We will then go to our dear friend Heather's house for a cookout. I told her I would bring some potato salad. Thanks to Noreen, it should be pretty tasty. I hope to be able to get some of the video uploaded soon.
On a final note, Brady shared her birthday with the newest member of the Petrucci family. Domenic was born weighing 8lbs 5oz and was 19 inches long. Congrats to them, what a great day we have to look forward to together now!

Brady's performance

The kindergartners performed last night. Brady insisted on getting her bath the minute she got home from school and then proceeded to NEED her hair done, her jewelry put on, etc... She insisted that she wear a certain dress because her friend told her that would be wearing the same shoes. Well, I let her have free reign over her clothing. And, of course, her friend didn't wear the same shoes. She looked beautiful anyway. I am so proud of her if you haven't figured that out yet! Only 8 more days of kindergarten and she moves up to the first grade.

So, so close

Oliver is almost crawling. He gets on his hands and knees and then he isn't real sure what to do so he kinda lunges forward and starts all over. I think he also realizes that he can get there faster by rolling.
I had a blast at fun field day yesterday. Jenn D came up and watched Oliver (thanks again) and I went to help out. The kids had so much fun I am already looking forward to next year. Tonight is the PTA and the kindergarten class will be performing. I asked Brady if she would be embarrassed if I cried. She said, "Yes, please don't."

Great Weekend

Ahhhh, a great weekend! We had a busy weekend but it was all fun. Carson spent the night Friday night. Her stay was short because I worked a little later than expected and we were off to Oliver's Pap's house for a visit on Saturday. The weather was a little breezy but absolutely beautiful. They live in Pittsburgh with a view of the river. They have worked really hard on the yard and it was so nice to dine outside among the pretty flowers. Michael's aunt and uncle even came for a brief visit and had the chance to meet Oliver. Pap cooked ribs and chicken on the grill and Noreen made the best potato salad I have ever had. Don't worry, I got the recipe so if you are over for a cook out this summer you will get to try it! Noreen even made a birthday cake for Brady and we sang to her and then she got a new pretty red dress. She is going to wear it tomorrow night when the kindergarteners sing at the PTA meeting. It was the first of many celebrations in the next two weeks for her birthday. Only four days and my Sunshine will be six years old!

Saturday night when we got home I let Brady watch a DVD on my computer. I put Oliver in the bed beside and did he think he was a big shot! Sitting next to his sister looking at the computer, back at her and then to me with a big satisfied smile on his face. It was priceless! Those are the moments you plant in your memories forever. I managed to catch a few pictures.
I had to work Sunday morning and then Brady had soccer. But we did manage to get to a friend's house for an evening visit. I have never been so busy in my entire life! I love it. Busy is good. So many things to do this week, including Brady's birthday and the aniticpated arrival of a friend's baby boy. Hayden Reese is having surgery on Friday so we will be thinking of him too! His blog is to the right.
I have to run and help with fun field day at Brady's school! Have a great week!

6 months old!

I wanted to post on this yesterday but I just couldn't get the time. Oliver turned 6 months old yesterday. I can't believe it! I think he is going to sit himself up soon. And he rolls all over the place. I put him in the middle if the floor for tummy time and went out of the room to do something. When I returned, he was on the other side of the room! I have no idea how he got there! I think crawling is right around the corner. Time to baby proof!

My how time flies! We went from this....

Happy Mother's Day

I have to post on this today as I will be working all day tomorrow. We are celebrating today. My sweet, sweet baby girl made me breakfast this morning. I was treated to Doritos, strawberries, and carrots. What more could I ask for? The look on her face will remain with me for years. She was so proud to have done something for mommy. That's what makes this whole day. My babies. They have made me what I am today and I would be nothing with out them. Michael made me an omlette to order. It was fabulous! The day would only be moe perfect if I didn't have to work tonight. Ugh!
I also miss my mother on this day. She is off on a fabulous adventure. She is on a cruise with her sisters and will eventually end up spending ten days with my brother Ben in Germany. So, Mom, if you happen to read this: Happy Mother's Day! I love you and miss you!

Practice makes perfect.

The title is pretty much true in anything you are learning. Brady has been practicing her tumbling and I have been practicing making pineapple daisies.
I took my Grandmother to Brady and Carson's final tumbling class. That was a challenge! She doesn't see as well as she used to and she tends to get a little confused. When we were leaving I had gotten ahead of her and she wasn't sure which way to go. I swear I thought I heard some of the mom's of the next class snickering because she was a little confused. If I knew for sure if they were laughing at her I would have probably lit into them. The nerve! She's 90! You'll be lucky if you even live that long let alone be as spry and happy as she is. I was going to try to post some pictures of the girls actually tumbling but all I got were some blurry pics of skinny legs in the air.
I am taking Brady and Dylan to St. Mike's carnival tonight. I will try to get some pictures of them on the rides. It should be a blast!

Planting away

I am so excited to be planting all the flowers for the season! This year should be the most colorful ever. Not only do I have the window boxes out front, but I am digging some more in the back and along the driveway. My back is killing me, but I am in a zone and can't seem to stop.

I took this picture of Oliver as he was sleeping. I love when he sticks his little tucas up in the air.
The plans for Brady's birthday party are coming together. She is having a tumbling party this year! It will be a week later than her birthday, so she will actually have two celebrations this year as we can't let her actual birthday pass without cake and ice cream. She is going to be six years old and she is just as beautiful as ever. I am sure I have said that before. She has tumbling class tonight. I am going to get my 90 yr old grandmother and take her to watch her two great-grandchildren in their last class of the spring. Should be interesting! Stand by for pictures!

So many firsts!

Wow! We have had so many firsts this week. I took Brady and Oliver to the playground after school on Monday. He had his first time in the swing and his first time down the slide. Did I mention that he has two teeth? My baby boy is really growing fast!
I started working yesterday. Well, I had orientation anyway. Eight hours of it! Whew! It was really hard to sit still that long when you aren't used to it. I still don't know how many days I will be working. I just hope that I still have time for PTA and other activities with my little ones. I am going to enjoy being out and about even if it is for work. I told the supervisor that if he could burn off 20lbs on my frame I would be ever so grateful. LOL (this was after we had walked all over the place. It really is a large place.)He said, "No problem. You will be running all the time."
That was the longest I had ever been away from Oliver. Over 8 hrs. I couldn't wait to get home and snuggle him. Although it was such a hot and sticky day he was sweaty and smelled a little vinegary, I snuggled him all the same.
